Zhengzhou Songshan Shaolin Wushu Institute and Pacific Education & Cultural Exchange Center jointly organize 2011 Chinese language & martial arts summer camp. This summer camp will be held in Henan Province China from July 13 to Aug. 8, 2011 for a two session period. The first session is from July 13 to July 26. The second session is from July 26 to August 8.
Zhengzhou, the capital city of Henan Province, is located in the middle of China. It serves as the political, economic, technological, and educational centre of the province, as well as being a major transportation hub for Central China. It lies on the southern plain of the Yellow River. As an ancient Chinese capital and a traditional trading center, Zhengzhou maintains abundant cultural heritage that reflects its glorious history as well as the culture of Henan Province. The best known tourist attraction is the Shaolin Temple, which is about 50 miles southwest of downtown Zhengzhou. The Shaolin Temple is not only known as one of China’s important Buddhist shrines, but also as the ancient center of Chinese Kung-Fu.
Our summer camp will be held at Zhengzhou Songshan Shaolin Wushu Vocational Institute, located in the corner of the famous Shaolin Temple. The Institute is directly under the State Education Department of Henan Province. The institute has accumulated rich experience in education and cultural heritage. It is one of the ten designated bases for promoting Chinese by Confucius Institute Headquarters China. The students from this school performed at the Beijing Olympic Games opening and closing ceremonies as well as many other internationally renowned events. Students are also offered excursions to Chinese famous natural and historic sites. Cost for the first session of summer camp is $980 including tuition, meals, lodging and local excursions. The second session only costs an additional $500. Accompanying parents are offered $480 per session per person. Meals and lodging and hotel services are included.
